Touch screen stalls occasionally

Hi,

I have built a touch screen interactive for an exhibition and every few days it stalls and requires TouchPlayer to be restarted. I have not been able to replicate the stalling behavior in a controlled environment.

An image is displayed, when the user touches the screen a circle TOP ‘reveals’ another image beneath. After 60 seconds of no touch input another image fades in over the top until the next touch input.

The touch input is driven by Panel CHOP taking a feed from an OP Viewer. When it stalls the touch input freezes. Is there a way to determine, through logs or some other way, why it randomly breaks after working for hours and days on end?

Hi @Abram,

there is nothing in your file that stands out as possibly causing a freeze. It sounds like it’s not a crash with dmp file but freezing the software?
First initial recommendation is to make sure drivers are up to date. Otherwise you could try to create a Memory Dump file when it’s frozen from the Task Manager and share it with support@derivative.ca - might be able to find something there.
Do you have more details on the NUC Hardware?

cheers
Markus

Thanks @snaut

Glad you verified that its unlikely to be the TD network - I’ve been struggling to understand what the issue could be.
I’ll thoroughly check all the hardware again this Monday and update drivers to see if this solves the intermittent issue.
The NUC is an HP EliteMini 800 G9 with an Intel i7, 32GB RAM running Win11. I would think more than enough for a simple touchscreen interactive.
Thanks again,
Abe
