I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP and I noticed Touch gets really slow about every 1-2 minutes and lasts for 10 seconds or so. My scenes are fairly light, usually around 20-28 ms. When the lag hits, they jump to about 290 ms. The Performance Monitor only shows the “misc/waiting for frame to render” entry as contributing to the slowness so maybe its a driver issue. I am using nVidia driver 280.26 with Windows 7 SP1 on a Mac Book Pro. If any one has seen this error or knows what I could try to fix it, I’d love to hear it.
Here is one of the networks that is getting the slowness. Don’t think there is anything crazy going on. I installed a GPU monitor and it looks like the GPU load is dropping to 0 and there is no spike in memory so I’m not sure what’s going on. No CPU or RAM spikes either, just a major jump in frame render times in Touch. blinkNBounce.toe (51 KB)
Tried a few more things and I think I’ve narrowed it down. I down graded my drivers and updated them to the latest beta and I still have the same issue. So it may not be the driver, per se. I deleted some nodes and notice the issue went away when I deleted the feedback node.
Here is an example that slows me down. Just a spinning torus with some feed back. I can work around this, but feedback is really important and it would be great if I could get it to work properly.
