Congratulations!
great! we who already have the beta, should do anything? re-download the package maybe?
For basic coding of fields, I worked out i need to use math.sin(20) instead of sin(20), but how do I now use $F and $T without getting a syntax error?
besides switching back to TScript that is,
oh, wow, switching back to Python converted my TScript $F automajically to me.time.frame, nice!
Right. Basically ‘me’ is the current node being cooked or evaluated.
‘me.time’ returns the Time Component driving it.
and ‘me.time.frame’ returns the Time Component’s current frame.
Similarly ‘me.time.seconds’ returns $T
For this and a list of other tscript equivalents, see:
derivative.ca/wiki088/index. … quivalents
In fact, the entire Python category has some useful conversion articles:

Cheers,
Rob
We’ve been very active polishing up any remaining bugs so uninstalling the current and installing the latest is a good idea.
Keep an eye open for any minor syntax changes we’ve finalized though:
derivative.ca/wiki088/index. … ease_Notes
They are included in the sections entitled ‘Backwards Compatibility Issues’.
But now that we’re out of Beta, backward compatibility issues will be very rarely introduced, and only when strictly necessary.

Congrats, thank you, and rock on!
Hi
Was just wondering if 88 will ever start supporting graphics cards like the Nvida Geforce gtx 765M.
I bought a new alien ware and thought that grapics card would work with 88 . When i install it seems to say its not good enough. Will you guys be adding support for more cards with time or is that it.
That card is certainly supported. Can you tell me what the error you get is? Have you installed the latest drivers from nvidia.com?
Thinking about it now that might have been a smart thing to do. If I,ve any issues I,ll get back.
one more 088 related question.
When i try and export chops to paramaters now its doent seem to work in 088.
Are there any tutorials about the new paramater interface.
When i try and export from a null that has an LFO attached to it to say a transform nodes scale function i get this error “invalid syntax” and the paramater goes red.
I,ve had a look around and cant seem to find anything that helps me to under stand how things have changed.
Thanks
Dara
Not much has changed in exporting. Are you dragging the channel from the viewer, or dragging the whole Null CHOP to the parameter accidentally? Which build are you currently working in?
What does the invalid syntax error say?
Thanks
in 077 I used to just right click and go to chop exporter and then drag the channel name to what ever parameter I wanted to export to.
But now in 088 there’s no chop export on right click.
tried dragging like you said but still get this message no matter what i do.
I,m obviously doing something simple wrong but cant seem to figure it out.
i,m using 088 64 bit build 10780
Dara
I think I see your issue. Instead dragging the whole CHOP to the parameter, you need to drag the channel. Make the CHOP’s viewer active, then grab the channel name and drag that to the parameter.
That should do it.
Here’s more info on CHOP exporting:
derivative.ca/wiki088/index. … _Exporting
Thanks for that.
Got it working now.
Dara
I have a GeForce GTX 680m in my AlienWare laptop and when I try to install 088 it says my graphis card is not good enough …
Manually go to nvidia website and download the driver for it.
