I’m experimenting a crash when I add operators.
My laptop is a Razer Blade 16 laptop Intel® Core™ i9 i9-14900HX Quad HD+ 32 GB DDR5-SDRAM 2 TB SSD NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Wi-Fi 7 Windows 11. I don’t have python installed, but previously i had several version.
Version of Touchdesigner 2023 12120.
Hello,
Could you specify which operators exactly?
As a first step, make sure that all your drivers, including integrated graphic drivers, are up to date and that your machine is free of bloatware.
The Bulk Crap Uninstaller helps in identifying unwanted or unneeded software: https://www.bcuninstaller.com/
Find the latest driver for your GPU at Official Drivers | NVIDIA
or use Nvidia Geforce Experience Update Drivers & Optimal Playable Settings
You can also make sure that your integrated GPU is running on the latest version available via Intel Driver Assistant.
You can use the AMD Adrenalin if you have an AMD Integrated GPU, in minimal install mode, via https://www.amd.com/en/products/software/adrenalin.html
If your machine comes with a proprietary power management software (From Asus, Dell / Alienware… etc), make sure that it’s setup properly to run TouchDesigner on the Nvidia / AMD DEDICATED GPU when plugged to power. Otherwise, it’s likely that TouchDesigner would run on the integrated graphics, hence it is important to also make sure your integrated graphics are up to date.
If the issue persists, try to generate a dump using Using WinDbg to Debug Crashes - Derivative
You may be running into a driver regression with the newer Nvidia drivers:
Can you try installing the 55X.XX series drivers, and see if that fixes the issue?
All the drivers are up to date and the problem is the “OP Create Dialog” window, it doesn’t matter which operator. Could you suggest something else?
Can you try and rollback your driver to 55X.XX ?
Please let us know if that works for you,
Best,
Michel
I could not install version 55 but 66 from july 2024. At the moment it seems to work. If happens again i’ll update you. Thank you very much
