TouchDesigner DMG Fails to Mount on macOS 26.0.1 (Tahoe) / M4 Max

Hey Derivative Team,

I’m unable to install TouchDesigner on my new MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2024, M4 Max 48 GB) running macOS Tahoe 26.0.1.

DMGs tested:

  • TouchDesigner.2023.12480.arm64.dmg

  • TouchDesigner.2023.12480.intel.dmg

Error:

“The disk image couldn’t be opened. There are no mountable file systems in the disk image.”

Tried:

  • Re-downloaded via Safari & Chrome

  • Mounting manually via Terminal (hdiutil attach -noverify -ignorebadchecksums)

  • Extraction with The Unarchiver (fails: ‘cannot be extracted’)

  • Verified DMG mounts fine on macOS 14 (Sonoma)
→ So the issue is clearly the DMG format/signature vs macOS Tahoe’s new image system.

Could you please confirm if a macOS 26/Tahoe-signed Universal or ZIP build is available or in testing?
Happy to help test if needed!

Thanks!
Omar (M4 Max / macOS Tahoe 26.0.1)

Hey, I’m unable to reproduce this issue. The old .dmg images should still be openable. Not every image needs to use the new format I would assume.

Is your main drive using the new file system?
