TouchDesigner on Intel Mac running Windows in Bootcamp

I have an older Intel mac that I use exclusively as my windows machine running Windows 10 in Bootcamp. I just installed the newest available TD (2023.12370) for Windows, but I’m seeing popups for missing DLLs on boot and TD won’t start.

The first missing DLL shown in vulkan-1.dll, so clearly this is a graphics card related issue. Device Manager shows my graphics card as “Intel Iris 5100”. The System Requirements explicitly says that Intel 5000/6000 series cards are NOT supported.

It seems like I have quite an obvious answer here, but I wanted to double check if there was a possibility that I could maybe run an older version of TD on this machine, or if there are any workarounds that I can’t find.

Note: My main machine is a Macbook Pro M1 - this runs TD just fine. My goal is compatibility testing for my project and connected hardware, and this is the best/only access to a Windows machine that I have. Please don’t just answer and say “TD supports mac just use that”.

Thanks!

Hi @secondstring,

you can download older builds from the archive (try 2021.10000 maybe) but unsure how useful compatibility testing will be if you are using different versions of TouchDesigner.

Yep fair point, it’s mostly driver compatibility which I think probably stayed the same throughout quite a few versions. Either way, it would be good to test my device with older hardware + drivers anyway.

Thanks for the build # suggestion, I’ll give it a go.
