Hello friends @ Derivative
I just installed the latest version of TD. When i close the program and shutdown my
Win XP SP2 machine, during the shutdown screen, TD restarts and hangs up the machine,
e.g. i have to use the switch to kill / turn off the machine.
Upon reboot (coldstart), TD also appears/automatically restarts, and is then also seen as process in the task manager, but not full screen, e.g. i have to kill it in the task manager
and start it “normal”.
Does anyone else have this issue ? I allready checked the startup etc…, but there is
of course not an entry which would give a hint.
Kind regards for your support
Christian Schmid
That is very strange. There has to be some sort of entry, in the registry maybe, that’s causing it to launch on startup. Never heard of this issue though. There is no reason we’d ever write that kind of thing into the registry.
Hello Malcolm
First thanks for the inital answer. Even on sunny Sundays you answer, wow !
What i did in the mean time was the following:
I used a program named Autoruns which scanned all the reg entries. I found three entries
which had the icon of Touchdesigner. So i unticked them, saved the whole thing and voilà,
i can shutdown and restart my machine again without the issue above. I attached two
pictures of the entries. How they got there and if somehow Win made a connection to TD upon
shutdown/restart, i have no clue. Maybe this will help anyone else !
Kind regards from Switzerland
Christian Schmid
Can you translate for me what it says in the first entries? May be a hint as to how those got there.
Hi Malcolm
Translated it means “Policy / Guideline of the local group”
I hope this helps ,else let me know !
Kind regards
Christian Schmid
