How is the performance of that solution? Within a single machine I like Syphon and Spout, but between machines I always use capture cards.
Anecdote:
I tried to use a similar solution built with Jitter a few years ago.
It was disappointing, though not immediately.
At first the visuals seemed to be right on beat.
Then I noticed the visuals seemed to be reacting to drum hits early.
How could that be?
That's when I realized the latency was almost an entire bar behind.
(I don't recall the tempo.)
