Hi, I need help with TouchDesigner not opening on my laptop.
Specs:
- Laptop: Acer Nitro 5
- GPU: GTX 1650 (driver 596.36)
- OS: Windows 11
- OpenGL: 4.6
- DirectX: 12.1
Problem:
TouchDesigner appears in Task Manager but no window ever opens.
The log file only shows “CUDAchance” and nothing after that.
What I already tried:
- Reinstall TD multiple times including older versions
- Disabled antivirus
- Cleared TD cache and registry
- Installed CUDA Toolkit
- Set NVIDIA as preferred GPU
- Updated C++ redistributables
- All other software (games, Blender, etc) works fine
Please help, thank you.
Hey, can you tell us which log file you are looking at? Is there more text from the log you can share?
Hi, thank you for responding!
I checked the log file at:
C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Derivative\TouchDesigner\log.txt
The log file only contains one single line:
“CUDAchance”
That’s it, nothing else in the file. No other text before or after it.
Please help me, Hope this helps narrow down the issue. Thank you!
I’m actually not sure what is generating that log file. I also don’t see it in the screenshot you pasted. Can you show the whole directory?
To diagnose this further, can you try making a .dmp file using this tool:
