When using touchdesigner from an extracted folder, the engine comp appears to use the TouchDesigner.exe from the default windows location, instead of picking the version of touchengine in the same /bin that touchdesigner.exe was launched from.
This will be fixed in the next experimental build.
In the meantime you can force a particular version of TouchDesigner/TouchEngine to be used by placing a directory with a TouchDesigner installation in it next to the .tox you are loading. Name the directory “TouchEngine” - so if in your case you renamed your extracted folder “TouchEngine” and placed it alongside the .tox you are opening, that version will be used. You can use a symlink to a directory elsewhere too.
