I would like to use touch designer on my current theatrical project. I am using some kinect work and other effects that touch designer is really well suited for. The problem I am currently having is I don’t really understand how to setup a cue structure in TD. I’m more used to traditional Media Servers (e.g. M-Box, Isadora, Watchout, Q-Lab, etc) and i’m trying to understand how to create a system where I can have an operator hit a button to move from cue to cue. Cues can be as drastic as moving to a completely new container or changing elements within the current container. I see a lot of traditional theatrical shows being done on the blog, but can’t seem to grasp how they do that. Does anyone have any example patches or a way they have done it before?
I don’t have a solution here, but looking for the same. Trying to design my senior project in TD. I think we have to build all the different scenes. Then an input like a button or OSCIN linked to a click counter(to count the cues). The table should reference all the paths and be able to substitute/switch variables(you have to create these in the places you want them?) So basicly click on a scene change, then values/renders are changed/switched. EASY…? I’m slowly trying to figure all this out. Help from a mentor would be greatly valued fellow TD forum members :ugeek:
Not sure what your workflow looks like, but this is a possible way to achieve results that can be changed simply by adding a new container in the cue_container, adding it’s name to the table cue_input table, and adding another button to the radio.
Depending on your needs this setup can change quite dramatically, but might give you some options you can use. cue example.5.toe (6.71 KB)
