I have a Launch Control XL controller. As I watch tutorials, under the Message column within MIDI console, when people move a knob on their controller, the format looks like “b7 1a 2d” and so on.
When I move any knob, the message column will go from 0-127 and the value column will change based on what control I’m manipulating.
Since all of the tutorials for midi mapping show entering values like “b7 00 --” in the user map area, my attempts to follow are not working. Can someone help me out please?
personally I would just skip the step of mapping necessary when using the Midi In Map CHOP and use channels straight up as they come in vie the Midi In CHOP. While you get all channels and might want to rename them, I find it also easier to deal with in case the midi mapping on the controller changes.
Otherwise the message column in the Midi Mapper should show something like the format you mentioned and this seems to be a bug which we are having a look at.
You can see the messages now by putting down a Midi In DAT and referring to the “bytes” column.
I am having the same issue. Unfortunately i can not map anything because of the address is only showing a value and midi channel differences in CC’s is not possible to map from the list, it does not recognise it. Is there anyone who solved the issue ?
there is currently a bug in the Midi Mapper Dialog which will be fixed in an upcoming release.
Have you tried looking at the bytes column of the Midi In DAT to retrieve the correct values or alternatively I would still suggest just using the channels straight up with the Midi In CHOP instead of the Midi In Map CHOP.
