UE + TouchEngine Engine COMP - 'Allow UI'

Hey guys,

Thank you for all your hard work on 2025.xxxxx Amazing stuff!

I was wondering if there are plans to implement the new Window COMP ‘Allow UI’ feature into the Unreal TouchEngine plug-in?

It would be absolutely amazing to be able to pull up a TE UI from within UE editor…

and to be able to launch full screen Windows for projections within UE, integrated with a TouchDesigner workflow..

Fingers crossed! this would unlock some cool workflows

I think Window is a typo for Engine, which has a new Allow UI parameter

@jteio we’ll discuss this - my initial suspicion is that it may hit performance for both UE and TouchEngine to be drawing to screen for both - but I see the potential use for it…

Would be really cool and save some tedious UI building in Unreal.

Understandable that it might have a performance hit, I’m also curious in this case to try running UE with headless rendering, and passing the camera buffers/textures to TE for processing and output to screens. (although I’ve just discovered Direct Display Out TOP which may make this viable)
