Hey I am doing an install with a bunch of projectors at the moment where the client would like to on demand block out some of the different content. Everything other than how to block out a chunk of what is projected is done and ready to go. My question is, is there an easy way to say do not display this part piece of video lets say 1 quarter of the screen in a random spot on the screen. I am thinking i may have to do with with putting the videos on to the cubes or a plane and physically move something in front but all and all i would much rather not have to deal with using any 3d objects. Is there a way to overlay on top of the output what i want to display and what i do not?
Sounds like you could just use either of the over, multiply or composite TOPs to overlay either a constant TOP or any arbitrary mask over the image. All of the TOP’s have transform parameters to be able to adjust the masks scale and position.
cheers
Keith
Note, set the over TOP’s Pre-Fit Overlay parameter to Native Resolution and the constant TOP’s resolution to the size of area of the screen you want to block. Now you would just have to use the Translate parameter to position the overlay.
Awesome you gave me a great idea! Since it is a static spot that I am overlaying I will just build out an image with the blocking and just use an over to push it on top of the video play. Thank you very much!!!
