Hi everyone,

Released VoidLinkAudio v0.2.0, a multi-host integration of Ableton Link Audio that includes two custom CHOPs for TouchDesigner.

Link Audio is the audio extension to Ableton Link, shipped with Live 12.4 (publicly released May 5, 2026). It lets you stream audio between Link peers on a local network, beat-synced, in addition to the tempo/transport sync Link has provided since 2016.

What you get in TD

  • LinkAudioReceive CHOP : subscribe to a remote channel; outputs L/R audio to your TD network
  • LinkAudioSend CHOP : publish a TD audio signal as a named Link Audio channel that other peers can subscribe to

Both CHOPs expose:

  • Channel name and peer name parameters
  • Read/write tempo and transport (sync your TD project with all Link peers)
  • Full Info CHOP / Info DAT integration: peer count, traffic counters, Link timeline values

So your TD network can react to specific stems streamed from a Live session running on another machine, in tempo, with no audio interface or loopback driver between the two.

Use cases

  • Multi-machine live performance: Live driving the music on machine A, TD doing visuals on machine B, both synced over LAN
  • Hybrid installations: Pure Data or Max patches feeding audio into TD for spectral / generative visuals
  • Replace BlackHole / Loopback for inter-app audio routing on a single machine
  • Network jam sessions where each performer runs their own DAW or environment
