Web Client DAT Issues

Hello!

I’m taking a class with Stanislav Glazov on Infographics. Both myself and another class member are having a problem with the web client DAT on mac. Both of us are unable to load data from a website using the DAT. Strangely, the object returns the https response from derivative or google but not the data we need for the class from Alpha Vantage.

When pressing “Request” nothing happens and no errors are displayed. I’m running 2021.13610 on MacOS 11.4. My classmate tried this on a PC as well and it works fine in Windows but not on his mac.

I’ve tried disabling firewalls and antivirus software as well as flushing my DNS cache. No luck in solving it so far.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I can now confirm that it works as expected on a separate Windows machine but not the mac. Both are on the same network.

I’m able to get it working if I have verify certificate enabled. Not sure why there’s a discrepancy in behaviour between Windows and macOS but certificate verification should be enabled anyway when performing a request to a secure server.

Thanks for the recommendation. That solved the issue for me. I thought I had tried all the options, but apparently, I must have missed it.

It is rather odd that there is a difference between the two. It’s working without enabling Verify Certificate on the PC next to me, but not on the mac.

Either way, at least it’s working now. Thanks so much for your help!
