Weird transparency dithering?

How do I get rid of this strange pattern / dithering on these boxes. Their alpha is controlled by the life of a particle sop, I’m using geo instancing.

this is usually the result of using the Transparency parameter on the Render TOP with the setting “Alpha-to-Coverage”.

A way to avoid this is by setting the render back to “Sorted Draw with Blending” and sorting the points before sending them to the instancing - for example by z. In my example here I’m using a Sort CHOP.
