What happens to audio when sent through shared memory?

I realized that when audio is sent through a SharedMemory Chop, it comes out of a sharedmemin chop ‘quantized’ - still at 44100 sampling rate, but it’s unusable. since there are no actual settings on shared mem chops, I’m wondering if it’s a limitation of the operators or something I’m doing wrong?

Can audio be sent to shared mem?

the image shows the audio coming out of a sharedmem in chop (above) and the one being passed to a sharedmem out chop.

Any advice? should I use a touch in/out chop instead?
thanks!

Yeah, those operators aren’t timesliced, so they aren’t suitable for audio data. They are more for blocks of data, or single sample data such as data coming from sensors.
