Why does Feedback TOP need input0(Source)?

I’m a TD beginner, but I have experience in Processing and oF.
I have a question about Feedback TOP. Why does Feedback TOP need input0(Source)? A feedback image is sourced from its Target TOP, so I think that input0 is not needed. But if input0 isn’t connected, it causes an error, “Not enough sources specified”.
I’d like to know the reason for this specification. Thanks.

It’s for the initial state of the feedback. If you just had a closed loop with no external input, then there would be no way to start the feedback. There are certainly configurations where you could get away without that, but for completeness we just require it so setups always work.
