I’m a programmer and dabbling interactive/audio-reactive artist who took an interest in TouchDesigner in early 2024, and fell deep down the rabbit hole. Now I’m a co-coordinator of the TouchDesigner YVR meetup group (in Vancouver) and frequent workshop instructor.
My most notable recent work was on the Voxelite installation by Tyler Soon (for Burning Man and several other smaller festivals), where I contributed interactive patches (including a volumetric AV thunderstorm simulation called Rain), helped resolve some portions of the TD infrastructure and helped other contributing artists get their patches working. I also collaborate closely with my partner Alyssa (who VJs and performs live AV under the name cy.matic) to build content used in her shows.
My areas of interest are in satisfying audio-reactivity, 3D scenes with complex lighting and materials, getting renders and post-processing just right, extending real-time tricks from game dev into TD, manipulating reality capture point clouds & splats, all things space-related, plants & foliage, physics, and accumulating a library of tricks using GLSL. Oh and I’m really into overly complicated POPs setups with huge amounts of points or geometry.
